The policies.

Seriously, as others have likely posted, Microsoft's establishment of those policies early on are probably what really hit it hard. Yes, it's wonderful that it pulled the great 180 and reversed everything but a lot of the damage to gamer and even general consumer perception and goodwill had been done.

There is a reason months before the console dropped Microsoft went out of its way to create fliers reading "Get The Facts" regarding XBO's revised policies hanging on store displays in Wal Marts across the US.

Second factor is price, no doubt. $100 above its closest, more powerful and popular competitor? Yeah, lagging behind that is a real shocker, lol...

Are we really still talking about this?.. lol get over it already! if you dont like what microsoft did.. or how they announced their product.. or the price... you are not forced to buy it, you also dont need to hang around this board and contemplate on it.

The DRM and general anti-consumer BS they tried to pull is the only reason I want MS to fail. I've never taken a console war seriously. But by buying an xbone you are essentially telling them and other companies that it's okay for them to try and screw over their customers.

It really sucks that my ipod doesn't play CDs. My walkman from 20 years ago could play CDs.

I have Bone but bought it used. Therefore, have Microsoft's product without paying them a penny.

What's funny is that developers and publishers whine about used games but the OEMs never complain about used consoles. Same principle right?

I would say the attitude of their PR staff in the first few days after the backlash. They were so smug with the if you don't like it don't buy it attitude for about 3 days.

The rest could be forgiven, but MS's attitude towards consumers and their inability to explain why the things that the consumers seemed to hate would be for their benefit was their biggest problem.

Minor - No disk-based authentication as an alternative to the daily check-ins.
I HATE seeing incorrect information, regardless of whether it is my preferred system.

Each XBox One should have come with Betty White. MS completely missed the boat on this because everyone loves Betty White. Even llamas love Betty White!
