Now, discounting movie-based spinoffs where the powerhouse superhero is already established, the most recent popular trio of "Superpower Playground" games includes Infamous, Crackdown and Prototype.

Allowing you awesome powers and a fun city to utilise them in is always a great formula, but these three games are very different. Infamous is more a typical superhero origin-conflict-redemption type of story, focusing on projectile-based particle-heavy powers. Crackdown focuses more on a super agent with unique weapons and vehicles, with a clear focus on impact and strength used in a comically absurd style. Prototype is the anti-hero type of story, with a darker, more brutal use of grotesque morphing powers.

But which do you love the most of these three, and why?

Saints Row 4 by far, there has never been a better super hero game imo and then Prototype 1 cause mercer.

Fun fact, there's a mission in SR4 where you have to rescue asha from her nightmare and its a parody on MGS and splinter that also lasts longer than Ground Zeros.

Kojima clearly copied it.
I wouldn't mind a game where I could be a Russian or North Korean character and shoot the us troops for once.

Saints Row 4 is a good game, and I liked the Matrix parody setting, but the movement mechanics are almost directly lifted from Prototype 2. Though supersonic running, ploughing through cars, is exceptional.

As well as all those IMPRESSIVE ASCENTS, AGENT!

I love the Crackdown 2 magnet mines too... Magnetizing cars to lamp posts and using the resulting magnetic monstrosity as a trampoline... Bliss.
