my sides
I've never paid a cent for free PS+ games, I own them, having more than one console is laughable and PC gaming is weak, reflecting the lowest bit of society.

"Taking aside competitive positioning and all of that, the winners in all of this are game players,"

So basically all the system exclusive early dlc was because you hated gamers before? It's a smidge hypocritical to try look like the good guys when they were by far the worst with having devs hold back content for other systems.

Personally, I like having less access to games as a result of corporate policy, and I feel obligated to defend this since it's coming from the manufacturer of my console of choice.

This. So much this. Less options are great for gamers!

The launch parity clause is a smart thing for MS to have. If they didn't have it then those games would release first on PC, then on PS4 because of the pub fund where sony pays for timed console exclusivity, then finally on Xbox One after everyone who actually wanted to play those games already had played those games.

Yes and now that MS has it it's forcing devs to just skip the X1 altogether. This is only going to get worse the more the PS4 pulls ahead in sales as it will make Devs care less and less about the X1.

You get access to LESS games as a result of this policy. Even if they allowed them to release later on XboxOne, at least they'd still be available. So how does this policy help you, exactly?
