I have a Tritton headset that I initially got for the 360. I'm unsure of the model, but it's black with an orange design on the sides that looks like a "T". On the left side there is two volume dials - one for people and one for game audio. There's also a mute button that turns orange when pressed and is generally blue otherwise.
Anyway, is the adapter compatible with this headset? I dont want to drop another $100+ on a headset... That'd be ridiculous.
The headset adapter only has one thing that can be plugged in, as both game and chat audio come out of it. As long as your headset uses a 3.5mm plug, it will work. But, if you have another cord for chat, you'll need to get some sort of adapter which you'd plug both cords from the headset into, which would then go into the controller.
Pretty sure the answer is no. According to the support page on xbox.com the Tritton Warhead and Primer are not compatible, and from your description I'd say you have the Primer. http://trittonaudio.com/prod/primer.asp
The following headsets are not compatible with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter:
- Mad Catz Tritton Warhead headset
- Mad Catz Tritton Primer headset (Mad Catz offers an adapter for the primer headset to convert the 2.5 mm to a 3.5-mm audio jack. Contact Mad Catz for support.)
I have the 720+ and it works fine for the most part. The headset adapter seems to lower the overall volume when its plugged in. Even with the headset maxed out its nowhere near as loud as before connecting it. Just be sure when you get it to hold down the "party" button to make it so game audio doesn't come through the controller or else you'll get an echo. Drove me insane the first few days.
