if they had, ms would probably be closing up shop on the console market within the next 12 months, just like sega did with the dreamcast

id rather see ms get out and amazon or google get in

I wonder if MS would have won if they stuck with it but had deals with publishers to make games cheaper. Imagine buying Watch Dogs or Destiny for $10 less or more. I mean initially you put more into the system but after a while you could get your money back in a sense like with Steam.

Most people do not want to download 40GB that they cannot resell. $10 is not enough of a discount. It would need to be Steam type prices.

Even though I hated the original plans, I would have bought one anyway.

Halo is too good to give up.

I don't know honestly...I've been an Xbox player since the OG Xbox days...my dad got it at launch along with a few games and we both played it lol...I had the PS2 and loved it...but I was turned off by the $700 price point to get a PS3...that and the fact that Halo 3 was just around the corner when I was finally making the jump to 7th gen made getting the 360 a no-brainer...when 8th gen rolled around I was disgusted at the original plan for the X1...but at this point in time I'm too invested in the Xbox to want to switch...that and I love Halo too much to switch to PS (before anyone says "you can still get both" ever since I started buying consoles myself I've been too broke to get both so I pretty much have to stick to one)

I'd probably still get the One but I'd be pretty angry at all their "innovation"

The system would have been in deep trouble had they not made major changes. I honestly believe they only approached things that way in an attempt to stop piracy. Regardless, they would have been dead in the water and rightfully so imo.

Halo is a huge franchise, but it's most definitely not enough for a console to survive on alone.
