I'm thinking of getting this new SAMSUNG 850 Pro Series MZ-7KE256BW 256GB. I'm wondering what the best enclosure is to go with is and if anyone's used 256GB exactly on XB1, since that's the minimum. I've never heard of most of the brands that make the enclosures. The only one I see with 5 star reviews is made by Unitek.

Is an SSD even necessary for XB1? Wouldn't the transfer rate be bottlenecked at the USB 3.0 connection?

I never stated otherwise...

But is USB 3.0 fast enough to justify the expense of a solid state drive when you can 4TB at 7200 for less money?

I don't need 4TB. The goddamn drive would likely fail before I even had it half full. I don't expect to play much beyond Halo MCC (and possibly Halo 5) any time soon.
