Maybe this was just my bad luck but even after taking excellent care of my 360s I still went through four of them in just 6 years. I became very disillusioned with MS's hardware quality and that along with many other things they did that have since been remedied sent me back into the PS camp.

Just curious to see if there's been any rampant, in general hardware failures so far with this one. I know it's only been 8 months but I'm holding out hope they improved. Maybe pick one up down the road if they did.

Amazingly well. The One was built to not overheat. Its a slightly large console but that keeps problems to a minimum.

There's been reports of faulty disc drives, but its a more rock solid console than the 360.

When the console's barely even been out for a year? It's way too early to call it "rock solid." Even ylod fat PS3's lasted about 2 years until widespread problems began to surface.

Too early to tell. But one thing is for sure its well ventilated and it doesnt get very hot even under heavy use. I suppose we can thank the giant box design for that.

In terms of overheating, seems so far so good except it took a while when we all found out how widespread the 360's problem was. Disc drive issues seem pretty common though - mine had that issue as well as a problem with the controllers refusing to sync with the console and unbind literally every few seconds to a minute. At least paying $10.50 for the expedited shipping, MS fixed my Xbone and sent it back in less than a week and a half

To be fair, many of the disc drive issues were from stupid people (including that well-known rant on youtube) who were trying to play games with the console in a vertical position....because they never read the instructions that came in the box.
