Promo code expires 12/31/2014, if not redeemed in Microsoft account. Once redeemed, promo gift card value will expire after 365 days if not used in participating Microsoft online stores.

That's total crap.

This has been the policy for a very long time... Old news and not something to get upset over. Most online digital stores have the very same policies in place, it just seems most people are unaware of them.

Promo cards expire. Actual gift cards don't. It's always been this way.

This is just for the Bing gift card things, not actual prepaid Xbox Live cards you get at the store, right?

That usually goes for ANY digital currency, be it Bing, Xbox Live, iTunes, etc, even gift cards you get have an expiration date. Apparently most people don't read the fine print nowadays...

Well, it depends on where you live I'm pretty sure. Gift cards never expire in California, and if it's less than 5 dollars left on the card, they have to exchange the amount for cash if you want.

Why are you buying gift cards, then waiting over a year to use them? Just keep the points and use them when needed.

Amazon and Target GCs don't expire. Just another way for MS to quietly screw their customers.
