I admit to buying games in the past due to their hype because they end up usually looking so good. However, it looks like that will be coming to end because of loot boxes being implemented in modern AAA 'hyped up' games (see sig). I've already avoided Shadow of War and will be avoiding Star Wars: Battlefront II.


Ditto. It's really too bad too. Battlefront 2 looked like it was going to be an excellent game.

Hype, no.

Ads, no.

Gameplay vids, sometimes.

Trailers, sometimes.

Mostly I buy a game if the premise appeals to me and the gameplay looks cool. I don't really need anything else. About 80% of the time I can tell if I am going to like a game.
My last signature got erased, so I put this here instead.
