So does this work similarly to the PS4? I'm planning on trading my One S to gamestop to pay for the Xbox One X.

There's a "how to transfer to the One X" section right on the dashboard.

I actually don't have access to my Xbox right now.

I've looked at youtube videos, and apparently I'll need an external drive to carry over game data? The game data is what I'm concerned about the most. Can I do that with just uploading to the cloud or whatever Microsoft has?

I also don't have access to my Xbox right now (at work) so I googled some info.

Seems like the general idea is to have an external to put your game data on and transfer that way.

I wish I still had that 1TB external drive laying around lol.
This life is just a game we play, that we can never win.
But don't give up, no don't give up.

Yeah, saves I imagine you can just re-download from the cloud like normal (so long as they are all uploaded).

If you want to transfer games then you can plug in any 256+gig external USB 3.0 drive, dump them on the drive and then just plug it into the new system.

Or you can just re-download & reinstall them all to the new system.

I picked up a 1t WD drive yesterday at Best Buy for $49. It's cheap and will mean I don't need to spend a ton of time downloading or installing before I can play the new one (plus have an extra t of space)

Ok I actually don't even see that section on the dashboard.

Also I called into customer service and they said all my game saves are automatically saved to the cloud. So basically I can just factory reset this now right?

And what's the difference between copying and moving files? For example, if I move Halo 5 from my Xbox One to my external, does that mean Halo 5 isn't on my Xbox anymore?
