My dumbass bought a 55" 4k lg smart tv with hdr and overlooked the lack of hdr10. Just hooked up my x1x and found out through the systems 4k tv details. My picture still looks really good though so im curious, is it that much of a difference?

If it is an actual HDR TV then it should be able do HDR10 as that is the base standard for HDR.

Nothing comes out as you plan it out to be.

It won’t make the picture itself look better, the colors just blend better. It’s a nice feature to have but overall it’s not a necessity
Forgive me for I am a noob. I know not what I do.

To my understanding a select few TV’s (mostly Vizio from what I’ve heard) opt out of HDR10 in favor of Dolby Vision.

My Vizio has both Hdr10 and Dolby vision.

To my knowledge, any tv that can support Dolby Vision, supports hdr 10, as hdr 10 Is open source, and there is no opting in, you just add on the support free of charge. You (tv manufacturer) have to license with Dolby to get Dolby Vision
