What if the ISPs work a deal with MS to make Xbox Live faster than PSN?

If the social stigma of identifying your country because of its elected leader make you feel embarrassed, you have psychological problems to work out.

Nah, I agree with Bumbleoni. Until last November I never have been embarrassed by who was president before. Not even when it was the letch double talking liar,or when it was soft apologetic Obama. I mostly swing right but this, what happened in November, was insane.

I can't even tell who's trolling who anymore. I can't tell if people are honestly Trump supporters or if they're trolling Trump supporters. I can't tell if things like that Trump Teddy Bear is for haters or lovers of Trump. I feel like Facebook and all the stupid arguments from both sides has created the biggest farce in presidential history of our times.

You mean I'll have to pay more for better service? What a tragedy. You f***ing socialists want everything for "free" while still retaining the benefits of a capitalist society (like cheap goods). You people just hate the rich. If you want nice things they cost money. I used to think net neutrality was a good thing, but it's actually just more socialist garbage. Forcing companies to give people the best service without having to pay more for it is f***ing stupid. The best things cost more, deal with it.

What should really be changed is the way the internet is billed. It should be billed as a utility and offered as such, not some bulls*** tacked onto your cable bill.

Not sure if trolling or just really stupid...

+1

If you actually think you will pay more for better service, you are dreaming. They will charge you more for the same exact service you already have. In fact, it will probably be worse as they won’t allow you visit websites outside of your package or throttle your internet speeds.

Yep. And it's like the problem with being a fiscal conservative. I don't like seeing a lot of the spending that is going on, but cutting that stuff just means that the money is going to go somewhere else. You think your taxes are going to go down because of it? No. We like to think that our taxes won't increase, but yet they always do anyways.

The Republicans in control of the FCC are about to remove net neutrality rules. ISPs will then be allowed charge you more for access to XBL or throttle connection speeds. Any costs added to Microsoft's end will surely be passed on to you.

Enjoy

-you're dealing with hypotheticals and something that would be an eventuality regardless, because they would just hike their rates under any premise they so choose to.

-they know how much they can get away with. Third, they throttled anyway.

-You're presuming costs on something you know nothing about and parroting bulls*** you heard from people with vested political interests.

-no ISP charges you "more" for access to things you may or may not use.

-notice that under Net Neutrality people still had overage charges and throttling for breaching a cap and in other instances no problems whatsoever just like before Net Neutrality.

-Google and facebook didn't lobby for it because they give a s*** about you or me. Remember that Mark Zuckerberg laughed that his users are "dumb f***ers for trusting" him.

You got too distracted with Obama's example using Netflix as a baby mobile to agitate you. His example would be like arguing that WalMart and Target are treated unfairly because of all the cheap stuff you buy there...so what we should do is make their import tariffs and shipping costs on par or equal- neutral if you will, to any other competitor regardless of size. Realize that the distributors are going to get their money one way or the other, so is it better to make the ones trafficking more products to pay more for all the things they bring in OR is it more fair to make a base rate for everybody that ends up significantly lowering those shipping costs for those 2 particular mega stores that have actual political influence while significantly raising the prices for every one else? And to add to that, will the cumulative sum of all those other more than make up and even surplus that which is being discounted for those 2 megastores that go into someone else's pocket?
Try reading the actual rules, and it was just as much bait and switch with an innocuous-sounding title to win your trust as Affordable Care Act was. For every bone they throw you, they took 3 back

Except now it can get worse. Sony could make exclusive deals with ISPs to have the fastest connection. That is the reality you now face. I have read them. You clearly haven't.

I have actually- all 400 pages along with plenty of supplemental material with arguments from both sides and everything in between. I think if you did actually read it then you could provide something more substantial than your babys*** HYPOTHETICAL.
First of all, I wouldn't give a s*** because I'm an adult and can afford both consoles. Second, Sony is too f***ing cheap to do that. Third, Microsoft already invests plenty into their own service as is made evident by its quality because of its infrastructure and made the same strides before any forced mandates- actually they're running pilots for their own services to start popping up nationwide within the next 5 years. Come back when that s*** ever actually happens rather than scaremongering that the digital sky is going to fall on our heads for something that was designed to benefit corporate and corporatist cronies in the first place rather than the consumer

How is a rule preventing the blocking of competitive data helping corporations? May I remind you its the ISP corporations lobbying to end the net neutrality rules. The rules exist becuase an ISP (Verizon) got caught throttling Netflix, in an attempt to corrode Netflix's business. The rules document is 488 pages by the way.

Man the right wing propoganda machine is absolutely incredible. The GOP could be actively kicking every one of their constituents right in the balls and as long as they think they're sticking it to the libs somehow they'll take it with a smile on their face. Funny cuz red states are usually the ones that get most screwed by GOP policies,as will likely be the case if this happens.

Protip: if billionaire telecom companies known for screwing people over at every possible turn are pushing heavily for something, it's a pretty safe bet its because they know it will allow them to gouge people even more. Incredible people are trying to spin this like it will somehow benefit them unless your uncle is a VP at Verizon or some s***
