I dont think nationality should be a part of the application process of being a tech designer.

Legitimately answering your question - no. It would make zero difference, even if Microsoft was to purchase a subsidiary or partner company with a Japanese name and styling, based in Japan with an all-Japanese workforce and design team, as soon as the Japanese public found out it was a western company presiding over it, they would inevitably veer away from it or perhaps boycott it outright.

If history is any indication, the Japanese people are some of the most insular in the world, culturally-speaking, so there's not much chance even with a Japanese-made, Japanese-designed, Japanese console making any moves over there if it's owned by an American company.

A decade working in AAA game development? Time certainly flies.

Nah, MS design language is great now. Their Surface line of laptops and tablets are really nice looking as is the S and X.

Sony should've had their Japanese division develop the Pro and not Mark Cerny, who can't even get his own game, Knack 2, to hit native 4K on a system he designed.

It looks like a triple cheeseburger.

Isn't the PS4 Pro not that much of an upgrade compared to the OG PS4 to begin with?

No idea why you are facepalming. Has this topic been done before?
Sorry to regurgitate an old discussion but some of us list for a properly designed system.
One s and x are good but imagine if the Japanese designed the Xbox One from the start.
Imagine not having a stupid console name

Because PlayStation (Insert Number Here), Vita, Wii, and Wii U are all great names right?
