Im thinking of buying one, but think the 1 TB drive is way too small for the amount of 4k content there is now.

You can always use an external drive.

I here I remember when the OG Xbox's 8 gb hard drive was so cavernous you could never hope to fill the whole thing.

I think it voids warranties if you tamper with it by replacing the internal drive. Just get an external. You can find them cheap if you shop around.

This. Just buy a 8TB external (or less depending on how big your library is) and you'll be fine.

Quite the opposite. As long as you don't get a real crappy one, games will almost 100% of the time load faster from an external HDD. At the absolute worst the time will be the same.

I had so many saves and a ton of music on mine. Always read 50K blocks free of 50K.

As someone who literally installed theirs yesterday the difference is negligible

That all depends on the game and the drive you're using. I remember at some point, can't remember what game, but some game was actually having problems running on internal storage and ran better on an external drive.
