I mean, sure, it was something like the third or fourth attempt at the Old Chaos overall. I attribute that mostly to figuring out exactly what the rules were.

But once I cleared all of those knights away and the King appeared, I very carefully took him apart.

There were a couple of near misses; he managed to hit me with that impale move a few times, and the first time his magic wore down the change in pace nearly cut me apart.

But I think this was a case where familiarity with sword-fighting bosses won out.

So that's the last of the Lost Crowns for me. I'm feeling quite elated.

Up next is heading right back in to see what Alsanna was talking about with freeing knights from the Chaos.

I beat Bed of Chaos in Dark Souls 1 on my first try some how. It was a fluke because it never happened again.

I think when I went back to the Bed of Chaos with my Artorias Greatshield, heavy armour Strength-built, I managed to get through it without dying on account of moving carefully and never being knocked down.

Speaking of, of all the bosses I would not expect to take on my first attempt, New Game + Pursuer would not have been one of them.

He didn't even land a single hit. That for a boss who once gave me so much trouble.

Still don't really have the hang of parrying, though.

Agree with Pursuer. Took many times in NG, in NG+ and later, easy kill. Another one that I had a hard time with was the Giant Lord. Now I don't know how I didn't get his moves first time.

The Burnt Ivory King is driving me nuts in NG+. I don't remember having a problem first time through, so must have got lucky. By the time I kill the Loyce Knigts. I'm alone with No Estus

Still haven't killed Fume Knight or Vendrick even once.

Is that fighting Vendrick with or without Giant Souls?

Given my experience with The Old Chaos when I had to increase the bonfire intensity to farm Loyce Souls, I think the extra backup from Lucatiel and Twiggy is very good for taking on the knights, and one still has enough time to dismiss them before the king appears.

With 4 Giant Souls.

Lucatiel? Haven't seen her sign. Is this on Non-PS3 SOTFS?

That's probably why I don't remember having a problem 1st time.

I suppose Vendrick having double defence is still nothing to sneeze at.

In at least the PlayStation 3 version, Lucatiel's sign is just outside the door to Alsanna's chamber, near where that chest is.

Yeah, found it. Don't know how I missed it before.

May have to wait until NG+ for Vendrick. Should be able to time his attacks better but I suck
