Three is just a pretty good number. Plus, in some instances, you have to wonder what they'd do in some further evolutions that wouldn't just be so over-the-top design wise as to appear ridiculous.

That being said, I bet an evolution for Dragonite would look pretty badass.
Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances.

Usually an evolution means a base stat increase of 100, and the beginner stages average around 250-350. So the third form would be anywhere from 450-550. Another evolution would mean legendary or pseudo-legendary base stats, which is why the third is the last.
If I had a superpower, it would be the ability to defy logic.

Because Sugimori was a bug geek when he was young. Evolution represents bug metamorphosis, with larva - pupa - adult.

That was Tajiri, not Sugimori.

Nah, just give Dragonair a split-evo that becomes Dragon/Dark and looks like Red Eyes Bla- *Gets shot.*

I agree. Though I generally prefer pokemon, when it comes to evolution, digimon has it much better.

Fresh>In-Training>Rookie>Champion>Ultimate>Mega>''Over''Mega (Term used for the handful of digimon that can evolve beyond mega)
Pokemon X/Y are going to blow my mind. They already are.
