well SR is the only reason he was given regenerator in the first place, which makes him so good

Really? I figured it was because of him being a phoenix and phoenixes being know for rebirth.

Nope. Ho-Oh is probably hurt the LEAST out of all SR weak pokemon. Having regenerator allows it to circumvent the whole issue that it can't switch out its below 50% health.
Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US

Ho-Oh's Dream World ability comes from its inspiration/flavor text/et cetera. Lugia's comes from its base stat distribution.
