D/P/Pt had you partner with like 5 people. It didn't spice up any gameplay. And D/P is 6-7 years old

Colosseum and XD were nothing like Stadium. And Colosseum actually did have a partner that conversed with you (however, she had limited impact on battles; she really only pointed out the Shadow Pokemon that you could catch.)
