With all the luck based stuff around in battles, I find critical hits to make everything worse.
I personally think they should either be nerfed, so they don't break through defense boosts and Screens, or are entirely removed. They are just complete luck in competitive battles, and the A.I "coincidentally" gets them all the time, ESPECIALLY when you have a Screen move up.

To be honest, it's a bit of both for me. Many times over, I have fainted a Pokémon I wanted to catch due to critical hits, and they're extremely frustrating when used against you. However, critical hits have saved my hide in so many battles, it's not even funny.

Iirc there's no multiplier, it just ignores all defenses.

Iirc there's no multiplier, it just ignores all defenses.

Ignores defense boosts+doubles base damage

Not removed. Perhaps if there was an "intelligence" stat that varied directly with the chance of a critical hit?

I wouldn't mind if they were reworked to something more controllable (eg. a crit buildup bar), or otherwise restricted to certain moves (eg. Slash variants, auto-crit moves). Between the current system and no crits at all, I guess I'd rather just lose them, because screw luck.
But hey, that's just me.
