And yet, there are clearly aspects of Space that you could never find on earth, and not every type is based on properties - Some are based on ideals or concepts. It's not a great idea, but your logic against it(or really, using that logic against any type at this point) is flawed.

Fighting and Dark type are the only types possibly based on ideals and they're just different fighting styles. "Space" isn't a fighting style. Everything else is a physical property which space isn't either. It's a dumb, nonsensical type and unlike Fairy there's nothing about it that doesn't fit with any of the current types.

There is already space Pokemon. For example Deoxys, Cleffa, Clefairy, Clefable, Palkia, Elgyem, Beheeyem, Staryu, Starmie, Jirachi, Lunatone, Solrock and Kyurem.

That Palkia issue still exists? Weird. I thought it was always pretty obvious. Most of the water in the universe exists in some cases, in endless recycling amounts....
