Every single generation anime he forgets nearly everything about something, for example, pokemon he has already met. In the new movie starring mewtwo, he forgot who mewtwo was.

List more examples and give an explanation, please.
I will ELECTRIFY YOU!!!

For kids new to the series. They don't know what would be happening, so ash is in the same position as them to make it easier.
PLEASE STOP WHINING ABOUT THE NEW POKEMON

And this, hence why the series remains ultimately static.

In the first movie, Mewtwo erased everyone's memories of the whole ordeal after witnessing the bonds between humans and pokemon revive the petrified Ash.

Ash later reunited with the same Mewtwo who had gone into hiding in the Johto region with the clones from the first movie, though his memories of their first encounter never recovered, thus limiting his knowledge of Mewtwo and its capabilities.

It sounds like the Mewtwo in this new movie featuring Genesect is a different one (no idea how it came about, though there's a special episode in the works to explain just that), so that's the best explanation I can offer.
Playing) Fire Emblem: Awakening, Guild Wars 2
Waiting) Pokemon XY

If I remember correctly (And I might not), didn't Mewtwo erase Ash's memory of him?

Sometimes, I wonder what would happen if they made it to where you HAD to watch the previous gen anime to get the current one...

And every time, I imagine they'd have higher sales/ratings from DvD's of previous systems/a remastered version of pre-AG gens.
