To be fair, while I liked KI:Uprising, that kind of music does not match Pokémon. Sorry, no.

Based on his entire body of work I could see him pulling off something Pokemon-ish.

Would be interested if they had some kind of collaborative effort like KI.

It would work if the music for the entire game decided to be awesome like in the BW2 animated trailer, but the whole game isn't going to be like that. I wouldn't mind if it was, but it's just not going to happen.

If Mitsuda was a composer, his music should be reserved for Gym Leaders, Elite Four and Champion, and the Version Legendary.
A familiar note is produced.
It's the note Desolation plays to keep its instrument in tune

This is the only way I can see it working.
Any other time I can't.

I suppose that's fair, though I don't see why his overworld themes in Chrono Trigger wouldn't fit in Pokemon.

B/c Chrono Trigger was an RPG about a bunch of timetraveling teens and a couple older men traversing the world, being badass, and killing a hilarious a-hole named Ozzie, who was always in a pickle or a jam, until their eventual fight with the big bad came upon them.

Pokemon is just...a kid from pallet town, with a whole new world to see...apparently?

Yasunori's pretty diverse though. He composed for Mario Party and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack, too.
