with so many shinies showing up in the demo's many are wondering if they made them more common for the demo to show them off, or if there is in fact a new rate that allows for them to show up more often.

so would you be ok with this? why?

Heck Yeah I'd be fine with a higher shiny rate. I haven't seen one in the wild in years!

I've always preferred function over fashion, so I can't say I care either way. A shiny one can still fight just as well as one that isn't, so yeah.
However history remembers me, it shall only remember a fraction of the truth.

I've never seen one in the wild and frankly I like it that way. I want to be something kept special and cheapening it is a terrible idea.

I think instead of shinies, every Pokémon should just have like 5 palette swaps (this wouldn't be very hard to implement) and they should all have 20% chance of appearing.

Having some extremely rare thing that is nothing more than an alternate color (more often than not ugly) is boring.

I don't care about shinies because they're not interesting, even if they're rare. We just perceive them as interesting because they're rare, but there's nothing particularly special about them other than that.

I do like the ones that look appealing to me, though, like brown Staraptor is very cool! I just wish it was easier to get (I actually have one from walking across a shiny Staravia in my first few hours of Pearl, then evolving it, but I would love for my competitive Staraptors to be brown without having to hack them or RNG them.)

Same with golden Probopass, goth-loli Roselia, etc. They're cool but not because they are rare. Their rarity just makes them annoying.

I don't really care about shiny Pokemon, so I guess so. Wouldn't really care about it, but it wouldn't bother me, so sure. I'd be fine with it.
Don't hesitate. When the time comes, just act.

I'd prefer not, unless they got rid of things that further increased the rate
Because more likely than 1/1024 is kind of a lot

Yes, because there are tons of people that still have never seen a shiny outside of Red Gyarados, so maybe it would make sense for them to be a little bit more common.
