I agree with the person that mentioned the power creep... It happens to everything with a growing meta (whether its tcg to video games)

Give underused pokemons something to make them more appealing...

That said I dont think mega evolutions will be that great because the trade off is 1 item... Since we havent seen any of the new items its hard to judge whether or not mega evolution is just a gimmick or a staple

Makes sense, you don't want the final "standard" evolution of the Kalos starters to be immediately overshadowed.

Yep, instead just have them get overshadowed by the Kanto starters.

Jk

Oh, no. You're absolutely right.

There'll probably be an update to make Kalos megaevolutions work within XY if/when they're introduced in the third version/sequels, for compatibility's sake.

The Kalos Pokemon mega evolutions are probably already in the games coding...

The region that discovered the secrets of Mega Evolution couldn't discover mega evolutions for their native fauna. GG.

Yep, it doesn't make any sense. I was hoping that the starters would at least get mega evolutions.

I'm kinda wondering if this is them stretching the truth. Kinda how you can't get M.Blazekin in game unless you get the event. Like there are M.Evos for them just you can't get the items in game, therefor, "no Kalos Pokémon will have a Mega Evolution within Pokémon X & Y."

If a third game comes out (like Pokemon Z) I can see them adding Kalos and more Megas. Over all, the first two games a gen seem to be testing the waters and seeing what the fans like so they know what to bring to the table next.
