I highly doubt it, because "transferring" just uploads them to the bank.
I was a casual gamer. Then I played Stone Tower Temple.

Why not just take the Charmander the game offers you after the first(iirc) gym?

Do I "need" the pokebank? What if I have two 3DS systems with me.

But normally do I have to wait till the game is beaten to transfer old pokemon, I'd be disapointed if that were the case.

Early on in the game, you are given a choice of any of the 3 Kanto starters, and you also get their associated mega stone as well. I don't know any more details than that though.
