might hunt for shiny, depends on how many steps.
You either die a Chespin or live long enough to become Quilladin. - . -

I've taken about more than a hundred maybe 300 or so steps and no shiny honedge, This was without masuda method. Even though I am using the masuda method now its still hard to get and I'm already in the hundreds range probably. I gave up for now cause its boring just hatching egg after egg getting the same thing. There needs to be a method less tedious then the ones we have now. My suggestion for the future is they add an island that increases the chances to find it much higher, 1/2000 at least... there are 700+ pokemon so no ones gonna get all of them anyways.

Can some at least say if it's faster then hatching starter eggs?

I think its much slower, I feel a better chance for a starter than a honedge since I see most of the shiny starters around. He's only found in one place and the easiest way to get a shiny honedge is to just breed. Its all about luck though, someone got it after 5 eggs.
