So how does Destiny Knot work exactly? Does the child only inherit 5 IVs and only 5 IVs? Or when it's given a random IV selection, it is given 5 IVs from the parents? It's a little confusing for me ^^U

It inherits 5 IVs. The 6th IV is random. The inerited IVs are each randomly inherited from either parent.
LOL at all the whiners and trolls. They know Vita tv and new model will kill all competition. Festering wounds for the Nintendrones by the gallons. - karissa1

So say if a parent has 4 perfect IVs, the baby has a chance to get 4 perfect IVs and then some?

I'm not sure you're describing two seperate things here? But let me try to clarify.

A bred Pokémon is first given a full set of randomly generated IVs. Then, three of its stats are chosen at random. Each of those IVs are overwritten by the corresponding IV from either of the parents- it could be all three from one parent, or it could be two from one and one from the other.

The Destiny Knot changes the above process by changing "three" to "five".

Just keep in mind you won't always get 5 perfect IVs from the offspring. Sometimes it takes a batch of 5 eggs or possibly two batches to get a child with 5 perfect IVs.
I've left whole towns like Balmora empty: 'Kleptomaniac' doesnt even begin to describe it.
They havent yet invented a word to describe the things I do. -Quaix
