When you hit a Pokemon for 2x damage, it should say "It's super effective!"

When for 4x, it should say "It's ultra effective!"

It would be nice to know without having to go on the internet and check a type chart and the target pokemon's types to see what actually happened.

I could have sworn I saw "ultra effective" in an older Gen, maybe 2?

Could you not tell if something was 4x effective on your own?

It takes less than a moment to think about whether both of a pokemon's types are weak to your attack.

How would I know the dual types if I'm playing the game for the first time?

No. Ultra effective is reserved for the fifth hit of a max ATK Swampert's Ice Ball boosted by a +6 Power Trick/Power Split Shuckle, with two Flowery Gifts and two Helping Hands in effect, against that new Dragon/Flying type (w/e it's called) with that one move that gives the opponent an extra Grass type in effect.

I don't remember the exact number, but it does something like 78 million damage, and there was a topic about it.

"It's ultra effective"

That does not sound right.

Not really. I'm kind of surprised the digital manual doesn't have a type chart.
