252 already goes in attack. So if Mega Blaziken were to high jump kick my Pokemon, will it do less damage if I EV trained it in HP or Defense?

Btw I don't care about special defense

I think HP is a given for tanks, but I don't really know.

It will do less damage if you invest in defense, but you'll soften the special blows a bit by putting in HP.

Though... it does depend a bit on who is using it. Like if you have a really low base HP compared to defense, you need to put it in HP (for example, Shuckle).

Depends on a lot of things - how high HP is compared to defense, whether you plan to attack or not, and whether you're putting some EVs into SDEF just in case you find out your opponent is running a mixed set, rather than a physically attacking set.

I'm talking about Azumarill. I need to counter those Mega Blazikens

HP then, it doesn't really need defense as much.

against physical attack, defense is more efficient.

Azumaril already take half damage from fighting, so you really only need to pick one. Since priority special attack is so rare, going full defense is the best bet.

I agree. That's exactly what I was thinking about
