That's why hacking is so rampant.
People cheat because it takes effort to get things, and it takes too much effort to get some things (or it's just not possible without cheating for some events).

So why doesn't Nintendo decrease the difficulty?

Because they don't care about wifi battling

As long as they get enough money to remake and re-release two versions of the same game every year they're happy
Asking for them to make breeding and the like slightly less tedious is about as futile as asking them to fix the glaring balance issues in the game. It's a children's game that we as loser adults and teenagers play and do our best to make it as balanced and competitive as possible.

Nobody wants easier methods of obtaining competitive pokemon in-game more than me, but lets be real, it'll never happen.
Once showdown gets popular enough for them to notice and they say its detracting from their sales and shut it down via legal proceedings we are all doomed to riding our virtual bikes for hours on end to get one member of a team.
