The recent GameFAQs update has changed the site so that if you include more than one newline at a time, it shortens it to just 1 newline.

While this definitely can help reduce spam and make posts take up less space, it causes challenges in formatting more elaborate posts.

Imagine a sticky topic going over all details about an unreleased game. How will the different subjects and blocks of information be separated comfortably if they can't be spaced out at least a little?

All I suggest is that the limit be raised to 2 newlines in a row, not 1. This way, nobody can fill their post with wasted whitespace, but there's enough lenience for a post that actually needs subsequent newlines for clean organization to use them.

So if I press enter twice to create two spaces between lines...

[has 2 enter presses between]

The final post winds up with just 1 space between.

In other words, Yukiko is trying to say that you can no longer string together consecutive line breaks; they display as a single line break.
So are we so different? Of course, we are, and you will be even more different if I ever finish my homemade flame thrower.

I never knew it was like that. I guess for the time being, you have to insert something per line.

I know about nonbreaking spaces, but nonbreaking newlines is new to me.

If this is indeed the case, then that means HTML is not properly being parsed. Therefore, I * sign *.

I don't think you can use new line characters directly within HTML (as far as I know). New lines are done with <br /> elements.

Can't view page source on my tablet by my guess is that text is being broken up into paragraphs (giving what appears to be a single line of seperation) and line breaks are not being converted into BR elements.

Just a guess though.
