Like I said (and you have admitted), this is not about drunk sex

I posted an article where a guy specifically said "drunk sex is rape."

Your insistence on changing the subject to something else is your own problem.

I mean, the main problem with foolmo's stance is that under it, if I have consensual sex with one person once, I could conceivably be charged with rape at any point in my life after that for that act, based on the person's ability to change their mind.

Not if you had consensual sex

But you've been maintaining that the person can revoke consent at any time after the act.
By the slice, baby.

I mean sure we can disagree about whether or not that's a tool of government to stack up laws that seem unenforceable while the public remains complacent and then use these laws to silence opposition. That's prb a different discussion, and I doubt either of our viewpoints would really surprise each other.

But maybe as the punishment for the crime goes up, the spectrum of innocent people caught in the crosshairs should be reduced? Is that something to consider? So if you were to make a majorly reduced sentence for a dude who got mildly drunk with another dude and took advantage of them, not put them on the sex offender list, maybe just community service or fines or mandatory classes, it would be ok to make these broad generalizations.

if both people are drunk i have very conflicting thoughts about it that aren't fully formed so i don't want to get into that here

but if a sober dude "takes advantage" of a "mildly drunk" dude then the first dude isn't innocent and should be in prison

Translation: I hold a gender-based double standard here but do not want to publicly admit it.

we were literally talking about two dudes in that example but believe whatever you want!

for whatever it's worth if a sober girl rapes a drunk guy i also think she should be in prison. two drunk people just muddles the issue for me and i'm not sure how to handle it.

Doesn't matter what you think. It won't happen. She won't even be arrested, much less convicted, much less sentenced to prison time.

No, you just don't understand consent

What % of prisoners are in for false rape charges?

I mean it barely happens with men raping women too. I'm sorry our justice system is f***ed up. I'd like it to be different.

Same with a guy raping a girl

So why not just admit there's a problem instead of dismissing the entire concept of rape (beyond the rare random violent ones)
