For the fifth time a moment ago my main character was executed from 100% health after about an hour+ of advancing in this dungeon. This time a shadow's rampage move was a critical, followed with another rampage. Instant death to my well geared, over leveled MC. Normally this would be no big deal, except in this case some moron thought a game over after every MC death-in a game where enemies can easily and frequently 1 shot you-was a good idea.

I am no stranger to RPGs and a longtime fan of the Persona series. I love this game, but I'm only in the first half, and I don't think I can take much more of this crap.

The worst part is, this game is so easy compared to a lot of other ATLUS games. I have yet to even remotely come close to losing a battle outright, after only very modest semi-grinding.

Cakewalk combat with the occasional random, out-of-your-control game over... what could be worse.

If only you could have a null physical persona at that level.
I was only mostly dead.

Eh, I agree with both sides here.

There are ways to counter this, but that doesn't mean the game's difficulty is well balanced

SMT's balance is pretty bad as a whole, honestly.

This is good advice. Especially since you can get a move to null his only weakness. The ability to change personas on your turn means this shouldnt start you at a disadvantage either.
Excellent!

I don't understand why people make this argument whenever someone complains about dying to a crit spree or hama/mudo. It's basically "make this persona". You can't tell when an enemy is going to pull a OHKO, so we can't prepare for it by switching to the given persona at the right time.

Prepare for a slew of responses blindly defending this game no matter what. I swear a game could force an electric shock through your controller and physically hurt you and people will still tell you to "git gud".

I disagree with that. If you know that the Persona you're fighting has a skill like Rampage, then you should be expecting it to land criticals and 1-mores, which can be countered by switching to a Null-Phys Persona. If you decide not to, then you're the one accepting the risk. Same with Mudo/Hama
