To also add to the post about Chicago area arcades, Logan Arcade is another great Bar / Arcade.
It also has Killer Queen, a relatively modern 10 player, 5v5 team game that is AMAZING.
I actually just got back home from travelling there for their 20th tournament. It was huge with around 150 people showing up. The Barcade itself is great too.

Killer Queen is starting to show up at more and more places, that's for sure! Uptown Arcade Bar now has that game, as well. Not surprisingly for that place, it's the ONLY game that isn't free there. But with how very popular Killer Queen is, I don't blame them for making a lone exception to their free games policy just for that game.

There's this really outdated company in British Columbia Canada that has had an arcade open for the last 30 years. I was there recently and there's still Turtles, Mortal Kombat 2, that Superman game (where you can charge your punches) and so on...

Whereabouts is it? I'd like to go check it out sometime. :D

Disney World closed Pizza Planet :( (named after the Chuck-E-Cheese-like arcade in Toy Story). I don't know how long ago though.

Crap! I just remembered Disney World's closing Disney Quest too! (they either just did or are about to)

In Asheville, NC, there's a Retrocade that has a nice selection of games. Mostly classics, but they have some newer games and a lounge where you can play on new home systems. They charge 10 bucks for a full day visit.

I've seen a few other arcades the past few years. Many of them are more dedicated to the ticket winning games. Dave and Busters is pretty fun too, but it's a decent drive for me to get to one.

In Austin, TX Pinballz has three locations if I recall. Huge selection of pinball machines at each location, plus classics Simpsons, Turtles, Xmen, PacMan. Even some air hockey House of the Dead and others. Pretty damn great and a good way to spend the day if your ever in the area.

Downtown Austin also has a few retro arcade pubs. But they are mainly just bars with three or five machines mostly things like Ms Pacman and maybe some air hockey.
