So i heard that you need certain SLI profiles for certain games to work properly with SLI.

Do the latest drivers come with the profiles?

How will I know if a game is SLI supported other than through a monitoring tool telling me that both GPUs are being utilized?

Yes, and most are updated on a regular basis to improve performance.

Generally speaking, games that don't support SLI today don't benefit from a second card anyway.

So would I have to manually set the SLI profile for each game I play?

Just enable SLI and every game that supports it will automatically use it.
