ive got a fan that has two leads coming off it ,a red 3 pin which i plugged in my mobo and a white 4 pin which is for the led .My problem is i can't another 3 pin to plug into the led cable so it will light up ? what do i do .

Have you actually tried it with just the 3 pin connected? It could just have the two options so you have do either.

I bet it works and lights up with just the 3 pin connector.

seriously, fans usually come with two different connectors for the sake of compatibility. doesn't mean they both need to be hooked up. if they do, buy a different fan or just get the needed adapter.

The 4 pin is a molex connection by the sounds of it (probably find only 2 pins are wired too). The fan would unlikely have both a 3 pin voltage control and 4 pin PWM. You can power your fan and LED using either the 3 pin or 4 pin molex, one or the other. Do not connect both, unless the LED really is being powered separately.

4-pin is obviously molex. It doesnt connect to the motherboard but directly to the PSU (shoudl be plenty of places to connect it check the wires). You probably have the option to choose between the two rather than hook them both up. Just try it out one at a time and see what happens.
