The sad thing is I can't even tell the difference between joke/troll topics and legitimate questions half the time because of some of the insanity I've read on here.

Programming will come to an end the day we get AI that can do it for us, all the while making us coffee when we wake up.

There's all kinds of new math that require new programming techniques.
So if Nintendo changed the name of the Wii - U, would they be pulling a U-Wii?

Yes, it's been dying a slow death for millenia but it's now circling the drain.

As a programmer I've never had more job opportunities in my life.

If a company doesn't treat me the way I like to be treated, or if I'm not making enough money I can simply pack up and find another job pretty much instantly.

There are so many job opportunities in the software development field that you get to pick and choose who you work for. Unless you're Google or someone then the employer pretty much has to bend over backwards for the developer or risk them leaving.

it seems learning to program is useless mostly because its limited i dont see any new programs that havnt been done or thought about

The dumbest question I have ever seen, programming runs everything on a computer, ever little crap program, game, OS everything runs off a program someone designed.

Maybe if lost all power and stop using all computers yeah then I guess yes.
If you don't like the smell of pigfarts, stay out of the pigpen.
