And created three icons: one for the main game and one for both expansions.

Should I start to play from the latest expansion (Beyond the Sword) or should I play them all separately?

Just do Beyond the Sword.

No reason to do the first 2.
Also, Chess is a game of skill much like all gameplay only video games. So it is pretty mindless if you think about it.-mtjormitch

Just 2. Warlords and Beyond the Sword.

You might be thinking of Civilization IV: Colonization, but that's more of a remake using Civ 4's engine.

Oh yeah, I think the Complete version included Colonization, which is definitely worth playing. In fact, I pfrefer it to Civ4.
