Since the new drivers, which do you think would perform better?

Do people not know how to read?

Apparently not.

The 780 may be a better choice, but 7970GHz CF with the new drivers is superior performance wise.

My vote reflected that.

Damn i had no idea a 7970 is soooo much more powerful than my 6870.

Guess its time to upgrade in October to a 9970.

The cf setup will pretty much wreck the 780 assuming you are playing dx10/11 games. If money is no object though go for a 780 and sli down the line. They really are beastly cards.

These results do a great job showing how biased the PCH board is towards Nvidia.

It's kinda funny really. The question really leaves no question on the right answer.

Some people want nothing to do with Multi-GPU setups.

Doesn't matter dude, he didn't ask which you would prefer to use or is easier to use, he asked which would perform better.... and it's not even remotely close.

In terms of framerates, 7970GHz was always better.
I'd take 780 any day of the week though.

I generally prefer a single card option over sli/crossfire. Just less of a hassle to deal with.
