Where do the feds pull search logs from?

Seen a few top cases in the news recently, and many of them usually involve prosecutors pulling internet search logs from the suspect's computer history and presenting it to court. I'm curious, would these logs come from the user's pc, or do search engines like Google keep a history of these logs?

Google keeps logs iirc.

So yes they could find all your weird porn that you've looked up if they wanted.

Those 'investigators' were probably the IT guys in the office. I'm thinking high level clearance here, and i don't think the browsers' privacy mode is truly private.

They essentially tell someone, "Hey, give us what we want or we'll charge you with obstructing justice." and said ISP/company caves without incident.

It's more along the lines of they don't want to pay lawyers to fight for something they don't care about.

They can require the agency to get a court order unless the agency specifically has the power to do what they are doing.

Normally when I have to pull a warrant on a search history we go right to the ISP.
Gamefaqs game rating system : 10 = Best Game Ever. 8-9. Crushing dissapointment. Below 8 :Total Garbage. This is getting ridiculous. people agreeing so far 105
