A gaming PC, obviously. I've never built a PC before, so I was just wondering if anybody had some advice regarding what I've got right now, if anything was incompatible with another part, or just in general if I should replace something.

CPU : i5-3570 (not 3570k, just the normal 3570)

GPU : Sapphire Radeon HD 7850

Hard Drive : Seagate 1TB

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H LGA 1155

Optical Drive : Lite-On 18x DVD 48x CD

RAM : G.Skill 8GB

Case : Apevia Mid-Tower Case, 450W PSU

Hopefully I didn't miss anything...

Thanks in advance!

You're missing a power supply. For your build, I'd suggest something at least 600W. Also, I'd suggest a 128 GB SSD for your boot drive and use the 1 TB for storing other stuff.
Intel Core i7 2600k | XFX Radeon HD 7950 | MSI P67A-G45 | Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 16GB | Crucial M4 128GB | WD Cavair Black 1TB | OCZ Fatal1ty 750W

I'm not familiar with Apevia but you'd probably be better off with a $50 case and a corsair CX430m, not sure what the price is in Canadian but it's only $22.50 US currently. You definitely don't need 600w though.

There's a power supply with the case, which was why I didn't pick one seperate, although if I need more power I can choose a different case/seperate power supply. Forgot about the SSD, I'll look up a few.

Would this work with the CX430m?

i would ditch the case with the integrated PSU and get them in separate pieces.

i prefer nvidia to AMD and a full tower instead of a mid but thats just preference on my part.

Would this case still be compatible with my motherboard if it doesn't have any USB 3.0 slots?

It will work fine, you just won't have USB 3.0 on your front panel unless you add a 3.0 adapter of some kind, that's what I did for my case but honestly I haven't even used them, if the adapter hadn't also had a spot for my 2.5" drive it would have been a complete waste. Your mobo should also 2.0 headers to use with your front panels so that shouldn't be a problem.
