Not happy with my 212 Evo. Should I get an Kuhler 620 for $35 or a V6 GT?

I have evo 212 plus too with FX-6300 @ 4ghz, 35c idle, 46c max load.

Try reapplying therminal paste, that should fix it, if not then its just crappy airflow on your case

... I'm still calling BS on the 2500k/4.5Ghz maxing at 39c under load. Should be around 60c in the vast majority of typical setups.

The thing about Alaska is that you get used to ambient temps at or around 60F, so that may affect the temps I'm seeing for my rig. Plus I usually check it while gaming, I don't remember the readings from Prime95 testing that well from 2+ years ago, maybe they were high 40's to low 50's during overnight testing.
Nothing here. Go on, shoo.

Added some more fans and now it idles at 40 and gets up to 60 under load.

My idle is at 40-43 on High Performance and OC to 4.5GHz on my i5-3570k with an H60 cooler. Idle temps don't matter anyway. It's summer. It's gonna idle hot unless you live in some state where it's cold as hell now.

This. And, just to reiterate: idle temps don't matter! Unless you're idling at 95 degrees, of course...
