I recently bought a new computer. A huge upgrade from my previous one, and I didn't have the money to buy an HD monitor to hook up via HDMI so I had to use this old flat panel monitor. So maybe this is the reason.

But the video and pictures don't look as crisp as my old computer and the video card on that one was some generic POS. It came with some ASUS driver and GPU tweak installation CD that says "graphics card" on it. Is that the reason? I thought Windows intalled that stuff automatically these days.

Another thing. The windows on this are much larger, so maybe when I watch video full screen it hurts the resultion? It just looks grainy.

Any tips?

It would help if we knew what the specs of your new pc are. Specifically the gpu.

It sounds like you're running on generic windows drivers instead of the official ones for your card, just run the cd that came with your gpu or go to AMD/nvidia's site and find the latest stable release for your card.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

You're either just not running a proper driver for your video card (ie, the default VGA one Windows will default to if it doesn't recognize it at all) or you simply don't have your resolution set to whatever's native for your monitor.

I installed the drivers and it didn't do anything. It's probably the resolution.

If it's the exact same monitor the only explanation is the resolution is set to something different
