I am posting this from my xbox 360 because my PC is broken. I noticed my CPU is getting hot these days so I turned it off to reapply the thermal paste. When I try to turn it on now, I have a black screen. Keyboard and mouse is not working (I suspect the computer is not powering the keyboard and mouse). All the fans and lights work.

I've tried the following:
-Unplugged the PSU, cleaned the dust with air and replugging everything.
-Change the rams to different slots.
-Took the CPU out and placed it back in.

Could it be my motherboard is fried? If it is the CPU than it should still boot to a screen and not a black one. I don't have any other computer to switch parts to find out which is broken. I don't want to replace parts that isn't broken either.

Did you clean off the old paste with rubbing alcohol before applying the new paste?
