Okay I looking at make a haswell(maybe ivy bridge if noticeably cheaper) build. Anyways I plan only to get a case, motherboard, and cpu(of course).
I was looking at this for case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133179&Tpk=Thermaltake%20V4%20Mid-Tower%20Case&RandomID=15381741338917620130831170436

I don't plan on overclocking though so I was planning to get i5-4670 or i7-4770 if budget allows.

I got an few year old psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006

I plan on taking my current psu, hard drive, graphic card(gigabyte geforce 560ti), ram(6gb) from my current computer.
My question is the case decent for a cheap case(i don't care about appearance for the most part) and would the psu age be an issue for the newer cpu(it currenting in use in a computer with i3 530, 6gb, geforce 560ti)

No idea about the case, but that PSU will be more than sufficient. No sense in getting the i7 either unless you're using the pc for things other than gaming.

I do a decent amount of video encoding so if the i7 was within budget I was going to consider it.
