If you're staying under 300, go with a FX-8320 and mobo of choice.

if you can go to microcenter

http://www.microcenter.com/site/brands/intel-processor-bundles.aspx or
http://www.microcenter.com/site/products/amd_bundles.aspx

pick one of those bundles. or search for your cpu, add it to the cart, and then search "z87" or "am3+"
I'M GAY.

300 bucks is a pretty good budget. You could grab an AMD 8320/50 and any of a zillion low cost AM3+ boards. As far as ram goes I'm not up on current prices.

I'd suggest a 2500k/3570k and a decent z68/z77 motherboard.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7x27/ for example.
