I think I'm going to do it. My Steam backlog is sizable, but not as massive as a lot of people here. I'll play each game and put a write-up here in the topic.

The first thing I need to do is determine what could be considered "cleared" from my backlog. This project is partially inspired by this reddit thread:

They considered a game "cleared" after only one hour of play. By no means can I fool myself into thinking I have time to beat every game, but 1 hour is not enough time to become acquainted with a game and have a realistic impression.

I will start with a time of 2 hours per game, though I definitely intend to spend more time with some games where it is needed to form a fair impression. I'd say it's generally how much time before I should really decided whether I will like a game.

I have around 130 separate games total, and I think around 90 that are "uncleared". Here is my collection, now separated by "Cleared", "Uncleared" and "other". "Other" includes mac versions, expansions and stuff that I wouldn't consider part of my backlog.

Uncleared games:
*Uncleared due to system reqs

Cleared games:

*Notice that I have a terrible laptop with a 555m and therefore cannot formulate realistic impressions for most games that are moderately demanding. I plan to buy a buy a mid-high range desktop within a month and a half or so. (I want an i5 4670k and a GTX 760 or AMD equivalent, I don't really know yet, I need to save up a bit more cash).

I also plan to keep a steady income of games, so my backlog won't be shrinking. Please suggest games for me to add, even if I can't run it yet. Even if I don't think I won't like the genre, I will play it.

I am playing these games in whatever order I please. Probably it will be 1/3 based on what game I feel like playing, 1/3 based on a random number generator and 1/3 based on suggestions from this board. At some point though, I will definitely have to play games that I don't feel like playing. That is the nature of a backlog. I hope that they will go from games that I groan thinking about playing to a new collection of favorites.

I originally started this idea when I had no idea what to play, so I went to the top of my steam list and thought Doom 3 looked good. So I'll be writing about that.

Other things:
-If I like a game, I WILL PURSUE IT FURTHER. At some indefinite time. If I really like it then I will play it much more.
-Some games will have to be played before others, especially as I add even more games to my collection.
-To add to that, some games I plan to replay before others. For example I plan to replay Bioshock 1 before hitting 2. And eventually Infinite.
- I am doing this right as college is starting back up. I am not insane, in fact, I think the only way I can do this is if I manage my time very wisely, which will be aided by school. I hope that it will actually help me keep a well-maintained schedule.
-Some games are Dota 2 and counterstrike: source. I am not a big competitive player. I will probably play in casual or bot servers for the time I need to. I won't have the time to learn a intricate, subtle e-sport. If I find the game interesting, I will definitely pursue it further.
-I am not especially talented at difficult games. I don't play IWBTG for fun. I will play most at normal difficulty.
-In the picture, some games are installed but that was just random basically, I have no intention of prioritizing them higher.
- I am lacking a lot of really great games, PLEASE suggest anything. There aren't many genres I won't play.

Doom 3
It's the original, I don't really know what the BFG edition is. In fact, my experience with Doom is really limited. I've played Doom 1 a bit on other computers.

I turned out all the lights and put on my HD280s, I've heard this game is one tense cookie. I was definitely looking for an atmospheric title. So when I went past the logo to change the options, I groaned. It was a little annoying to edit the config file to get 1920x1080, but I was excited to play this.

Actaully, I really got into it. The world felt really convincing. I found myself searching for PDA logs so I could put myself into the world. Going out into Mars for the first time was terrifying. I don't think I've had a video game capture the feeling of something being there without it really being there.

Some people apparently choose to play with a mod that allows the flashlight at the same time as the gun. I think the game is waaay too dark, I found myself frustrated shooting into blackness too much. But still I want to play it unmodified. I plan to play most games in this series without major modification. There were almost as many moments though, where I was shooting into blackness out of fear for my life, and that was genuinely fun. The sound could be more convincing though.

I'm really suprised though, the game looks good, but it still retains an old-school FPS feel. The controls are 100x more responsive than most modern FPS. It satisfied my want for a quick-paced run-and-gun game like flossing after you've eaten tough steak. It felt good, yet the atmospheric parts were still heart-pounding.

I played for 2 hours in one sitting, but this was before I developed the 2 hour rule.

Will I revist this game? Absolutely. I found that I was drawn in by the story, and I want to play more of this game. I've heard it gets really samey and the story peters out, but this game is simply fun.

I've also just cleared Doom 1. I'll write up for that shortly. If you feel like it, you can suggest a game you want me to play next.

You should do Walking Dead ASAP. Relatively short, incredibly engrossing. Once you start you won't want to stop.

I was doing a backlog cleanse and doing a blog about it. But I ended up getting engaged and shortly after got really sick for about 3 months. With the wedding planning and other things I sadly don't have time to continue it at the moment. I hope to restart it again after the new year.

So good luck on your journey! -> Currently:22 of 52 games beat for the goal this year

This is why consoles are superior. PC has too many cheaply available games!
ADD, no. Where is the thread for Fallout OCD players?

I've tried each of those on my computer and the performance just isn't good enough. It's not really fair for me to get a headache from running an FPS at 25fps and calling it bad, just cause my experience wasn't good. I want to give each game a good of a chance as possible.

lol. Yeah... but I don't have the skill or time. Even the games I have cleared, most of them I haven't gone into near as much depth as I could.
