Never played them, but they are both on sale right now. So worth buying?

I only played the first one, but not sure what kind of value I'd put on it. I liked it well enough but it's just a brief single-player campaign with no major secrets, unlockables, exploration, etc. It has good creepy atmosphere and they did an all right job with the optional stealth elements. Gameplay is solid but not that varied. The graphics overall are really good (the game was considered a great system benchmark in its day), although their quality is a bit inconsistent because there are parts where I think they assumed you wouldn't stop and look at, for example, a snow-covered car through the fogged-up glass on your gasmask.

Worth playing if you like FPS games, but not fantastic.
