I'm sure that TC expected an outpouring of support for his idiotic problem, but yeah. Your friend is a moron, and you sound like a whiny entitled brat.

my buddy isn't exactly an expert, and he somehow contracted "RansomWare"

You don't "somehow contract ransomware". You fall for the digital equivalent of getting into a van marked "Free candy" down by the grade school. Nobody wants to own up to their stupidity though so when they come here asking how to remove it they always put the blame on someone or something else. "It just showed up!" "I have no idea how it got there!" "I got hacked!". Yeah right.

I'm not letting him download a virus on my brand new laptop! He doesn't even take care of his own stuff!

She sounds like a smart woman... well smart enough in this case anyway.

If someone just messed up their computer and immediately turns and asks to use mine, I would be like "nope". I would fix his for him if he wants to though.

It's not "popular". You've been publicly shamed for how foolish you are.

That wasn't even a good attempt at spinning it.

That's why no one listens to kids. They're too dumb to know they are dumb.

If my friend got a bunch of viruses on his computer, I wouldn't let him anywhere near my stuff.

I always thought it was dumb to move out right away. Get a job, don't pay rent at home and buy all your cool stuff before you move out.

Got to look at it from your mom's perspective. Even if your friend hadn't ruined his laptop, there's still the chance of him dropping it and smashing it or breaking it.

Just because you bought it for her, doesn't mean it's yours. You've given it to her. If you wanted it for yourself, you should have said "It's mine, but you can use it"
