I looked at the titan specs, but it can only go 60fps max at 2160p, is it possible to do 120fps? Even with a SLI solution?

What would be the point? I imagine real 120Hz 2160p screens are a long ways away.

I heard someone say 4x Titans barely get 60 fps on Metro: Last Light maxed at 4k.

Depends on the game.
I can do that fine for console level games that didn't run like complete garbage on ps360.
Want that Shield!
Ball and Cup on ps mobile has framerate issues. -stargazer64

No. We don't have the power to render those frames, nor do we have a panel for that resolution and frame rate. I don't think Displayport can keep up either.

the radeon 9970 will be 4k ready with the rumored hdmi 2.0, same with gtx 880 and titan 2 early next year

DP 1.2 can go up to 2160P @ 60hz. HDMI 2.0 can't go higher than that either.
If brute force doesn't fix the problem, you're not using enough of it.

no cable outputs 120hz..that's the display doing the extra work and processing..with the new hdmi 2.0 you get achieve 120hz, 240hz, 480hz once these manufacturers put them in their displays

no, displayport 1.2 is more than capable of it, it's just that there's no displays that have adopted it. Has nothing to do with the cable.
